Artificial sweeteners are a topic that has come up a lot lateley, so instead of answering the same questions over and over again in email, I figured this was a great opportunity to address this one through and Ask Coach Rylan segment. In this clip, I reveal the truth about artificial sweeteners, and give you the best options for natural sweeteners.
Coach Rylan

EXCELLENT… Have been in nutrition for many years
and you are right on with Stevia !!! Thanks SO MUCH
for your time to help people towards health in their
lives – you ARE appreciated ! ! ! !
Thanks for the comment Patsy, very much appreciated.
Very good explanation of why artificial sweeteners are so bad and what they do in the body. I already knew this but it is great to see a fitness professional informing his clients/subscribers of this knowledge.
Well done Coach Rylan.
Thanks Coach,
This really answered my questions about sweeteners. I have been trying to eliminate them from my diet and now have excellent reasons to make sure I do so.
Ginny
Thanks Cindy, appreciate the kind words.
Glad to help Ginny.
Just wondering about (fruit) herbal teas. I have put in a call to the company that makes this tea, Healtheries, over a week ago asking about this and still waiting to hear the answer. But say in Wildberry tea, which tastes sweet. The ingredients are Hibiscus, rosehips, blackberry, elderberry, cinnamon, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and here’s the Q… “nature identical flavours raspberry, strawberry, boysenberry”
What do you reckon these “nature identical flavours” contain? Sugar in some form? I have asked them and at first they said no and then they said they’d have to check in germany and get back to me. After reading about the crap in protein powders, I hope there is not chemical artificial sugars hidden in my herbal tea?!! What’s your feeling (and I will let you know when I hear from Healtheries, possibly they are not getting back to me on purpose…?)
Coach – the protein powder that I am using has sucralose listed as the last ingredient. Now what? Should I buy something different? There really weren’t any specifics to go by when buying so I looked for something with the least amount of carbs.
Thank you! You often write very interesting articles. You improved my mood.
Thanks! I was able to find stevia in packets. This has been helpful for me, since I am not used to it, it was already portioned for me.
I didn’t know, until doing this program, how bad splenda was for me.
Well, I would. The splenda (sucralose) will have a negative impact on your resutls. Most companies will allow you to return their product if you aren’t satisfied. I would try that. I’ve done it when I purchase a protein powder that I thought was sugar free and I found out that it wasn’t. It was even opened and I used a few scoops already.
Well, I still cannot get a feed on the video, so I’ve only seen the beginning. Stevia is good, but I cannot purchase it here, so I just do without sweetner and go with the natural taste of the fruit. I’ll keep trying to watch the video since it got such rave reviews!
Any suggestions on what I should look for? Does GNC or
Max Muscle have anything that is appropriate?
Don’t know, as I don’t have either of those stores locally. I just buy everything online because it’s usually cheaper.
Would it be best if I just buy a product that is not sweetened at all? Is there such a thing?
I was wondering why my weight loss and loss of inches has halted.
I use a liquid vanilla stevia which blends wo well in anything. Its made by NuNaturals. I use in my oatmeal, tea, etc. Very good and not much of a bitter aftertaste.
There is, but any of the protein powders I recommended on my web page are perfect. Check those out here -> http://www.gosleeveless.com/supplements.html
Hi Thank you for this. I wanted to mention my neice was using products with an artificial sweetener in it for a body building program and she developed neurological symptoms, similar to MS.
Just reconfirms that people need to get informed, thanks to you for being a good resource!
Gwen
Good lord! That’s awful!
Bodybuilding can be one of the most unhealthy sports in the world – it seems a little ironic doesn’t it?
Unfortunately most of the bodybuilding supplements are absolutely loaded with this junk, that’s why I pointed out the ones I found that are actually healthy.
Imagine that – a healthy health food supplement? Weird huh?
Is it a thirty day riskless trial?
